You want to get as many people as possible to sign up for your offer, right? To do that, you need to know how to keep attracting them to your nutrition business.
Quality lead generation isn’t an easy task. And, that holds true even if you’ve been in the health and wellness industry for years.
I mean, coaches usually don’t have the marketing knowledge necessary to attract people. But, don’t worry. I’ll tell you the story of my client, Shawna, to show you it’s possible to learn how to make your business attractive.
Putting Our Lead Generation Tips Into Action
When Shawna came to NCI, she was already a health and wellness veteran and the owner of Fit Body Boot Camp. She specializes in online training for over-40 women and also provides nutrition tips.
Now, Shawna’s business was doing fine, but keeping up with the competition in the online space proved to be challenging. That’s why she wanted to reverse-engineer my coaching model and apply it to her boot camp.
So, the first thing we did was to remove all the outdated information and dispel old myths that kept her business from growing. We focused on providing immediately applicable information.
It worked great for her!
As soon as Shawna started applying the changes, her clients messaged her about the positive impact they experienced.
And if the following tips worked for Shawna, they will work for you, too.
Lead Generation Tips for Your Nutrition Business
Tip #1 – Make the Information Simpler
It would be wrong to expect your audience to understand the language and all the biological mechanisms associated with nutrition. There’s a lot of nutrition information out there, and it can become overwhelming for you and the audience.
So, you need to break the information down for them.
After all, you could get caught up in the excitement of creating your offer and present it like you’re talking to an expert. And when your lead sees it, they won’t understand what you’re talking about.
But, if the information is simple to follow and applicable, you’ll start building trust with your potential clients.
That being said, your recurring clients and loyal followers may understand the advanced stuff. Even so, it will deter new clients because of their knowledge gap.
Worse yet, that gap may lead them to believe that your offer isn’t entirely legitimate.
Tip #2 – Provide Information That’s Relevant to Your Audience’s Goals
What happens when someone comes to you and tells you that they want to lose weight?
Because the thing is, they should know what they’re really saying with that.
What do I mean by this?
When someone says they want to lose weight, what they’re also saying is that they’re fine with having mildly less energy, seeing a reduced output at the gym, and feeling periods of extreme hunger.
For your audience to be aware of this, it’s often necessary for you to tell them about it during the conversation. You need to give them the information that’s relevant to their goals.
In this case, you need to tell them that if they want to lose weight, it means they’ll also have to deal with hunger, having less energy, and less output in the gym. That way, they can understand the whole process involved and you’ll be on the same page moving forward.
Tip #3 – Don’t Hesitate to Give Away Stuff
Everybody likes freebies, and it’s one of the best ways to get more people in. But at the end of the day, you need to make money.
So, what should you give away?
You can give away information, pamphlets, nutrition resources, and other types of content. Some coaches even give away strategy sessions for free to get to know their lead’s pain points directly.
Keep in mind that you can give away whatever that’s not going to hurt your capacity to earn money from your nutrition courses. But, you also don’t want to drive up your client acquisition cost significantly.
It’s worth mentioning that the nutrition niche is constantly evolving. So, keep an eye on what’s trending to determine what kind of freebie would be attractive to your audience.
Also, don’t hesitate to diversify a bit and offer different types of freebies within your niche. That may help you determine the format your audience likes the most.
Tip #4 – Create Your Tribe
Your tribe is a group of your most loyal customers and followers who understand how big a transformation you can create for them.
Of course, that takes time, effort, and perseverance. But, if you approach tribe creation the right way, you can expedite it.
It’s perfectly fine to find a social media group where your target audience converges. You can then find a clever way to help the audience members when possible.
And when you do that, it’s critical not to come off as spammy or pushy.
Instead of telling them how to do something, you can point them to a place where they can find a solution. Additionally, it’s essential to avoid promoting your offer unless you’re specifically asked to.
The bottom line is that some people need handholding to achieve results. Therefore, it’s not like you’re donating your time for nothing. You’re building trust and rapport for the leads to come to you on their own.
Tip #5 – Leverage Value Exchange Content
Remember when I mentioned how you should give stuff away? Well, doing so is an excellent way to not only generate leads but also build and strengthen your community.
How exactly do you do that?
By offering what we call Value Exchange Content (VEC).
Now, the VEC can be as simple as a three-page document that shows how you get results for your clients. It’s safe to say that anyone can create such a document in no time.
When you do, simply let your audience know that you’ve created it. Post it on your Facebook profile and ask whether someone’s interested in seeing it. If they are, all they have to do is comment on your post, and you’ll message them.
Alternatively, you can say that you’ve posted the file in your Facebook group, which will encourage people to join. Little by little, you can build your community and generate tons of leads.
Lead Generation Made Easy: Get Quality Leads Galore!
How do you lead people into your business?
The journey starts with providing valuable information that helps your target audience. If you can achieve that, your nutrition business will become the go-to place for everybody who needs actionable advice.
Being generous with what you’ve got is invaluable. Just imagine someone messaging you with:
“The recipes I got from your free pamphlet really helped with my bloating, and I feel so energized. Do you have something to help me lose a few pounds?”
This is just an example, but it shows you what a qualified lead looks like and how powerful lead generation tips can be.
